Ingredients Needed
- Chicken Tenders
- Corn Starch
- Egg
- Whole Milk
- All Purpose Flour
- Granulated Garlic
- Onion Powder
- Smoked Paprika
- Dried Oregano
- Kosher Salt
- Black Pepper
- Vegetable Oil
Honey BBQ Sauce
- Ketchup
- Honey
- Brown Sugar
- Worcestershire sauce
- Dijon Mustard
- Chili Powder
- Granulated Garlic
- Onion Powder
- Kosher Salt Black Pepper
Step By Step Directions
STEP 1 Make the BBQ Sauce by combining all ingredients into a saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring often until brown sugar is dissolved and mixture starts to bubble. Lower to simmer, cook 5 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
STEP 2 In a shallow bowl mix together the flour, garlic, onion, smoked paprika, oregano, salt and pepper. In another shallow bowl beat the egg and milk together.
STEP 3 Slice each chicken tender into ¼ inch strips.
STEP 4 Sprinkle cornstarch over the chicken and toss to coat evenly.
STEP 5 Dip each piece chicken into the egg and dredge in flour. Place on a lined baking sheet, with space between. Repeat with remaining chicken.
STEP 6 Heat the vegetable oil over high heat in a heavy bottom pan or dutch oven using a fry thermometer.
STEP 7 Cook chicken in batches, not over crowding the pan until chicken reaches 165° using a digital meat thermometer.
FRYING TIP: Keep the oil between 375° and 400°. Let the oil come back to temperature between batches for the crispiest chicken that doesn't soak up too much of the oil.
STEP 8 Place a wire rack in a rimmed baking sheet. Line with paper towels. Remove chicken to the wire rack to drain.
STEP 9 Place chicken in a large bowl. Drizzle with bbq sauce and toss to coat.
Serve immediately.
