The mantel I moved up here last year is such a fun little area to decorate, and I really wanted some big stems of pampas grass this year to play with. I bought mine from here, but here are several other places I’ve seen that you can buy them: 1, 2, 3
The pampas grass has such a pretty golden color and tons of soft texture, making it the perfect fall accessory. I stood some old books up next to the antique jug holding the pampas grass with the pages facing out to show off the golden aging paper. A few pieces of pottery, a vintage mason jar with faux hydrangeas, and a framed engraving hung on the wall completed the look. Do you remember when I bought some engravings and framed them for the new bookshelf in the living room? This was one of the extra ones I didn’t have a spot for, but I love how it looks in this floating picture frame I got from Target’s Hearth & Hand line a few years ago.
One small change I made in here this week was moving the “ones who dream” artwork to the opposite wall (you can’t see it in these photos, but here you can) and hanging a set of hooks on the wall by the window. It’s the perfect spot to keep some cozy sweaters and my favorite hat I’ve been wearing so far this fall.
I found the engravings I purchased recently here, and there are a ton of options for you to choose from. I love the vintage touch they add to a space.
I shared this tip on my Instagram stories (you can follow me here) the other day when I was putting this room together, but I wanted to share it here too. One of my favorite easy + inexpensive ways to decorate for fall is with baby’s breath. Actually, specifically dried baby’s breath! You can buy a big bunch of it from the store for just a few dollars and let it dry out until the stems turn from green to this golden caramel color. Then just add little bouquets of the dried petite flowers in vases anywhere in your house! Pretty texture, beautiful color, cheap, and can be used year after year. I’ve probably had this bunch for 4+ years now!
Anytime I show this green throw blanket I get asked where I got it, and the answer is Target several years ago. I bought it when I was giving my son’s room a makeover, and I love the olive green color. Here is a similar option!
I hope you guys enjoyed seeing my bedroom styled for fall! What fall decorating have you been doing lately? xoxo Liz
