How to Make Apple Cider Muffins
Apple Cider Muffins are really easy to make, and go so well with coffee, tea, milk, or (of course) a cup of apple cider! They are also a quick apple dessert or breakfast muffin to bake. To get started, preheat the oven to 350°F. Combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and apple pie spice in a large bowl. In a smaller bowl, mix the rest of the muffin ingredients.
Pour the wet ingredient mixture into the flour mixture and stir until there are very few lumps. The batter will be a bit runny. Fill a lined muffin tin about 2/3 full with the batter and bake the muffins for 20-22 minutes. Carefully take them out of the oven to sit for a few minutes before removing them to a rack to cool.
Apple Pie Spice and Sugar Topping
After the muffins have cooled, it’s time to sweeten them up a bit more with the topping. First, dip the top of a muffin into a bowl of melted butter. Then, roll the buttered top in a separate bowl of the apple pie spice and sugar mixture. Place the muffin back on the rack and repeat with the rest of the muffins.
Can I Freeze Apple Cider Muffins?
Yes! To freeze the muffins, let them cool completely. After they have cooled, store the muffins in freezer-safe containers for up to three months. Don’t forget to label and date the containers. When you are ready to enjoy a muffin, simply let it thaw completely before devouring.
