To tempt your sweet tooth, German Chocolate Cookies from Holly Clegg’s Too Hot in the Kitchen cookbook are an easy and outstanding pick-up. Made with a coconut, pecans, oatmeal and dark chocolate, these sweet treats will win you over even if your team is losing.















German Chocolate Cookies

Coconut, pecans, oatmeal and dark chocolate in a rich chocolate cookie just about covers my criteria for a bombshell cookie!






Servings3 dozen cookies







Ingredients










2tablespoons

butter



1/4cup

canola oil



3/4cup

light brown sugar



1

egg



1teaspoon

vanilla extract



1teaspoon

coconut extract



1cup

all-purpose flour



1/2teaspoon

baking soda



1/4cup

cocoa



1cup

old-fashioned oatmeal



1/3cup

flaked coconut



1/3cup

chopped pecans



1/3cup

dark chocolate chips












Instructions











Preheat oven 350°F. Coat baking sheet with nonstick cooking spray.





In mixing bowl, beat together butter and oil. Add brown sugar, mixing until creamy. Add egg, vanilla and coconut extract, mixing well.





In small bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and cocoa. Add to creamed mixture, mixing well.





Stir in remaining ingredients. Drop by rounded teaspoons on baking sheet. Bake 8-10 minutes or until edges are just firm.
